The Tentera Udara Diraja Malaysia (TUDM, Royal Malaysian Air Force) is the sole operator of the A400M in the region.

The TUDM has made excellent use of its A400Ms to support large exercises throughout southeast Asia and as far afield as Australia

The primary role of Malaysia's A400M fleet is that of strategic airlift, with tactical airlift as a secondary duty.
