Douglas A4D-1 Skyhawk with external long-range tanks. America's conception of a light fighter, the Skyhawk weighs 11,000 lb. and was the first U.S. aircraft of delta planform to utilise a tailplane.
Chance Vought F8U-1 Crusader carrier-borne local air superiority fighter is the first U.S. aircraft to employ a two-position incidence wing.
North American T-28C Trojan two-seat basic trainer (140528) was designed as a replacement for the T-6G Texan.
North American FJ-3 Fury (136155) which differs from its predecessor, the FJ-2, in having a 7,220-lb. s.t. Wright J65-W-3 turbojet in place of the General Electric J47-GE-27.
North American FJ-4 Fury (139300). Latest in the line of Furies the FJ-4 has been extensively redesigned and has a new wing of increased chord.
Grumman F9F-8T Cougar two-seat trainer (142439) is the Navy's first transonic operational trainer, and was developed from the F9F-8 Cougar.
McDonnell F2H-3 Banshee (126470) long-range, all-weather fighter. A total of 175 F2H-3s have been delivered, and this model was superseded by the F2H-4.
Chance Vought F7U-3M missile-launcher Cutlass (139871), equipped with Sperry Sparrow missiles. This model is a sub-variant of the F7U-3, which in turn is an extensively redesigned F7U-1.
McDonnell F3H-2N Demon (133610f) is an extensive re-design of the F3H-1N. The F3H-2N has an increase of 15 per cent in wing area.
Douglas YA3D-1 (135413) is the Navy version of the B-66B Destroyer. The YA3D-1 will be the largest of the more-than-one hundred plane complement of the Forrestal carrier.
Douglas AD-5 (132646) multi-purpose version of the Skyraider. The AD-5N illustrated is a night-attack machine.
Bell Model 61 HSL-1 (129853) was specially designed for antisubmarine duties and carries dipping sonar equipment for detecting submarines.
Grumman S2F-1 Tracker (136482) with underwing missiles, is now in production for the U.S. Navy and Royal Canadian Navy. The Tracker carries a large offensive load which can include torpedoes, depth-charges, or mines, in addition to a built-in armament of 20-mm. cannon. The fuselage houses radar and magnetic airborne detection equipment. Another version is the TF-1 Trader Transport.
Beech T-34B Mentor (140913) primary trainer. Developed from the Model 35 Bonanza, the Model 45 Mentor is in service with the Chilean, Colombian and Canadian air forces. Maximum speed 188 m.p.h.

Temco TT-1 (N78856) trainer. The Temco private-venture Model 51 jet trainer made its first flight in July last and is now being evaluated by the Navy. Maximum speed 300 m.p.h.
Douglas R4D-8. Super DC-3 (17169) is an extensive modification of the C-47.
