J.Franken, F.Toenders - Serbian Air Force Revitalised /Military/
A Serbian Air Force MiG-21 pilot climbs into the cockpit for a practice QRA scramble.
Pictured just prior to touchdown is a G-4 Super Galeb. A Yugoslavian-designed jet trainer, it was pressed into the ground attack role during the Balkan conflicts.
The J-22 was a joint development between the Romanian company Craiova Aviona and SOKO. It was designed primarily for air-to-ground and reconnaissance missions.
The Serbian Air Force operates Gazelles produced locally under a cooperative arrangement with Aerospatiale and SOKO.
The Serbian Air Force has four MiG-29s left in service, all of which have recently been upgraded.
In the summer, Batajnica Airbase is used to train new pilots on the UTVA-75.
An order from the Iraqi Air Force for the UTVA Lasta-95 has been received, while the SAF is also expecting to buy this trainer.
