One of 17 Super VC 10s delivered to BOAC for operation on the London-New York route. The prototype Super VC 10, G-ASGA, was first flown on May 7, 1964, with Bryce in command.
One of the most popular aircraft from the passenger's point of view was the VC 10. Trubshaw was co-pilot to Jock Bryce when the prototype VC 10, G-ARTA, took to the air for the first time on June 29, 1962, from Brooklands. The prototype Viscount V.700, G-AMAV, was flown in the England - New Zealand Race by a BEA crew. With an overall speed of 311 m.p.h. and an airborne time of just under 41 hr, 'AV was placed second in the Transport Handicap Section.

The prototype Valiant, WB210. Note the straight slot engine intakes in the wing roots. WB210 was first flown on May 18, 1951 by Summers with Bryce as his copilot. It caught fire in the air on January 12, 1952 and was destroyed; all the crew except for the copilot escaped.

The prototype Vickers Varsity, VX828, first flown on July 17, 1949 from Wisley by Summers and Bryce. The type replaced the Wellington T.10 as an RAF crew trainer, entering service in October 1951 and remaining in use with Flying Training Schools until 1976.
