Tiger Moth G-ADPE photographed at Desford in 1936. Registered in November 1935, 'PE was damaged beyond repair following a forced landing at Kirbymoorside on May 10, 1940. This Tiger was operated by Reid and Sigrist and was doped Cream and brown. Desford was the home of No 7 ERFTS.

Registered in April 1936, Hornet Moth G-ADNE is pictured at Desford shortly after it emerged from Hatfield. Later it was impressed into RAF service as X9325. The Hornet survived the war, was restored to the register in July 1946 and is still airworthy today.

Two photographs taken at Hanworth after a taxying collision between Blackburn B-2 G-ACEO and a Stinson SR-7B Reliant, almost certainly L. C. Desoutter's G-AEFY. The incident probably occurred in 1937 and both aircraft were subsequently repaired. In November 1939 the B-2 was re-engined with a Cirrus Major and in February 1942 was given to the Cumberland Air Training Corps as 2899M. The Stinson was impressed into RAF service as W7979.

Two photographs of Avro 643 Mk II Cadet taken shortly after an incident at Desford in 1936. G-ADTY was first registered in January 1936 to Air Service Training and based at Ansty. In July 1941 it was impressed into RAF service as an instructional airframe, becoming 2941M, and was delivered to No 437 Sqn ATC at Poplar in London. The Avro 643 Mk II was powered by a 150 h.p. Armstrong Siddeley Genet Major IA. Introduced in September 1934, the 643 was an improved version of the Type 631 and featured thicker wing spars and an inverted fuel system.

Two views of Blackburn Bluebird G-AAUX after it crashed at Waltham on April 29, 1937. First registered in May 1930 and owned initially by Auto Auctions Ltd, 'UX was returned to Blackburn in 1935 and used at Brough by the Reserve School until December 1936, when it was loaned to the Grimsby Aero Club.

The Redhill Flying Club's D.H.60G G-AAJZ seen at Redhill in 1937. Built at Stag Lane in 1929, this Moth was first owned by The Hon Mrs A. P. Westera. The Redhill Flying Club acquired the Moth in July 1935 and continued to operate it until the war. In January 1941 'JZ was impressed into the RAF and became DG586. It was scrapped in June 1945.
