The B8 with its final tail configuration, lacking the strake but with a much larger rudder, with the elevator horns exposed and with the pulleys mounted internally. The cable runs are still external for easy maintenance.

The extraordinary Bonmartini tracked undercarriage inflight, attached to Auster J/5 G-AJYL. A tailwheel skid guard was fitted to protect the stern frames from damage during manoeuvres over rough ground.
