P.Jarrett - Sopwith's Long-lost Record Breaker
Первый прототип "полуторастоечника" - "Сопвич" LCT на заводских испытаниях, декабрь 1915г.
The Land Clerget Tractor shortly after completion, in late December 1915 or early January 1916, without armament. Its centre-section bracing, inherited from the Sigrist Bus, led to the type being nicknamed 1 1/2 Strutter in service.
Deficiencies in performance and handling experienced with the Type 807 Folder seaplane
Deficiencies in performance and handling experienced with the Type 807 Folder seaplane and its landplane derivative, the Spinning Jenny (shown), both of which had conventionally-braced two-bay wings, led to development of the Sigrist Bus.
In this three-quarter front view of the Sigrist Bus, the specially designed Lang propeller, with its characteristic square tips, is conspicuous. The outward-raked interplane struts are also evident.
