Blackburn B-101 Beverley
Транспортный самолет Blackburn B-101 Beverley разрабатывался фирмой "General Aircraft", проведшей многочисленные исследования для создания большой грузовой машины. Когда вышла спецификация С.3/46 на тактический транспортный самолет средней дальности, компания предложила проект G.A.L.60 Universal Freighter. Она получила контракт на прототип с двигателями Bristol Hercules. G.A.L.60 представлял собой самолет двухбалочной схемы, без гермокабины, с четырьмя двигателями и трехстоечным неубирающимся шасси с носовой опорой. Прототип строился на заводе "General Aircraft", но 1 января 1949 года эта фирма слилась с "Blackburn", образовав корпорацию "Blackburn and General Aircraft Ltd". Помимо основного грузового отсека самолет имел небольшой отсек в передней части. Кульминацией испытаний стал сброс на восьми парашютах груза массой 18144 кг. Beverley мог перевозить 94 пассажира или 70 десантников с полным вооружением, при этом 36 пассажиров или 30 солдат размещались в хвостовых балках.
В мае 1954 года ВВС дополнительно заказали 27 машин Beverley. Самолеты состояли на вооружении пяти транспортных эскадрилий. Последние Beverley ВВС списали в конце 1967 года, заменив их Lockheed Hercules.
Существовало несколько проектов гражданских вариантов машины, в том числе двухпалубный "паром" через Ла-Манш, но ни один из них не был реализован. The second production example, G-AOEK was fitted with Bristol Centaurus 173 sleeve-valve engines, which drove de Havilland hollow-steel-bladed propellers of 16ft 6in (5m) diameter, the largest then in use on a British aircraft. A direct-injection version of the Centaurus was proposed and tested for use on the Beverley, but the idea was never adopted.

Yorks, is supplied by ten Napier Scarab solid-fuel rocket units. Depending on load carried, the Beverley can be rocket-assisted by two, six or ten Scarabs. Using the maximum ten, with an a.u.w. of 135,000 lb. the unstick run is reduced to a mere 400 yards.

The Blackburn B.107A makes use of the Beverley wing and tail unit but there the similarity ends. The 107 is a much larger aircraft and is powered by four Rolls-Royce Tyne turboprop engines. Main loading doors are at the front of the fuselage and the rear loading door is for the dropping of heavy loads in flight. Data: Span 166 ft. 8 in; length 124 ft., height 31 ft.; gross weight 175,000 lb; range 4,000 miles.
