de Havilland DH.82 Tiger Moth
<...>

G-AOIV The Thruxton Jackaroo G-AOIV rapidly succumbing to the ravages of time. According to A.J.Jackson in "British Civil Aircraft" this was derelict at Don Torcuate airport for a time before being scrapped, having been sold to Argentina in 8.59 but never registered there. The photo could well have been taken at Don Torcuate but behind the Jackaroo are a group of derelict Peruvian Stearmans including OB-LGH-429 and OB-LGM. Can anyone confirm the location and date please?
The photograph of Jackaroo G-AOIV is confirmed by Messrs Hagedorn and Kuhn as being at Buenos Aires/Don Torcuato probably in mid-1960 and similar views dated 9.61 exist. The Peruvian Stearmans were also derelict there for years and were ex-CAFA aircraft. The ultimate fate of G-AOIV is still not precisely recorded.
