Initial flight test of the China Helicopter Design Institute U8 rotary-wing unmanned air vehicle have been completed, according to Chinese state media. The U8 recently completed 29 sorties in 15 days at Tianshui City, Gansu province, and Xinng, Qinghai. The U8 made its first flight in 2007 and has been offered for export as the U8E for a number of military and civilian roles, including surveillance and search and rescue.
