Before it was acquired by the Ultra-Light Aircraft Association, the Zaunkoenig had two other identities - first (on photo) in Germany as D-YBAR and then at the RAE, Farnborough, as VX190.

The author flies the Zaunkoenig for the photographer's benefit. The finish and markings shown here are those applied when the aircraft was first operated by the ULAA.
Later, whilst still registered G-ALUA, it had at least three other finishes in succession, one of which is shown.

Restored in all its glory, this British-registered Zaunkoenig is a credit to the owners.
After leaving Britain, the Zaunkoenig was acquired by Commander Jet Sales in Eire, where it was registered EI-AYU. This photograph was taken when it appeared at the AOPA Ireland annual convention in Kilkenny on 5 May 1974. Its present whereabouts are uncertain.
