F.9 Sparviero
Stelio Frati's next design was to be a single-engined version of the F.6 Airone, designated the F.9 and named Sparviero (Sparrowhawk). Like the F.6 this was also built by Legnami Pasotti, as a four-seater with 250 hp Hirth. This was later replaced by a 240 hp Lycoming GO-435-C2 to reduce weight and improve fuel consumption. The Sparviero achieved a respectable maximum speed of 201 mph but did not enter series production.
D.02 I-HAWK Soc Legnami Pasotti, Milan, f/f .57; not officially regd with full C of A until 10.8.60 to Ludovico Wild, Linate. C of A expired 9.9.67 and aircraft sold .67 to AC Milano, Milan-Bresso; new C of A 5.3.68 but presumably damaged as C of A suspended 29.5.68 at Linate and wfu. I-HAWK was presented to the Milan Science Museum and the registration cancelled in 1972.
