Back to those happy-go-lucky days: the old-timers’ park, w th the Gordon-Bennett Bleriot flanked by two less racy Bleriots.
Mr T. Jones admires the restored Bleriot XXVII No 433 fuselage and engine. This machine flew in the 1914 Gordon Bennett Race in the USA.
Richard Nash’s Bleriot XXVII just after he crashed it at Brooklands on June 15, 1936. The accident received little publicity because on the same day the Vickers B.9/32, K4049, made its first flight from Brooklands in great secrecy. Nash escaped with a cut chin and the Bleriot survives in the RAF Museum at Hendon.
