The Indonesian Air Force took delivery of three DG-Flugzeugbau DG-1001 Club gliders during mid-January. They are the first of six ordered in October 2011 for the service's Flying Academy at Yogyakarta. The gliders were ordered to replace the academy's other gliders, one of which was involved in a fatal accident in April 2011. G-1003 is seen at the manufacturer's airfield at Bruchsal in Germany prior to delivery. Indonesia is believed to be the second military operator after the US Air Force ordered 19 examples as TG-16As in 2010/2011 for use at the Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs.
