F.400 Cobra

  The next design in which Procaer were involved was the F.400 Cobra, a two-seat jet which used the same wood and aluminium construction method as the Picchio. It was powered by a Turbomeca Marbore II which produced a maximum speed of 360 mph on 880 pounds of thrust. The Cobra programme undoubtedly suffered from the loss of the prototype soon after certification and a four-seat development, the F.480 Cobra was not completed. It was intended to use a 1058 lbs thrust Marbore VI in the F.480 but it is doubtful if it was ever installed.
