GENERAL AVIA

In 1970 Stelio Frati began a new venture. He set up a company to manufacture prototypes of his designs which would then be licenced to other constructors. This company, General Avia, has already been referred to in the section dealing with F.15 development.

F.20 Pegaso

The first design produced by General Avia was the F.20 Pegaso (Pegasus), a 5/6 seat light twin powered by two 300 hp Continental IO-520-F. Two prototypes were built and a production batch of ten was initially intended to be built by Italair of Bergamo but insufficient finance was available. An Allison-powered turboprop version was also planned. Recently a third aircraft manufactured by General Avia has flown.
