G-LCGL airborne above its Wiltshire home on September 23, 1993.

With wings folded the Swift’s 9ft 6in width can be easily squeezed into a convenient corner ofa hangar. By removing one pin from above each wing one person can fold the wings in seconds, clipping each to the fuselage sides. The 6ft 5in wooden propeller was made by Tony Lawrence of Classic Airscrew.
G-LCGL is traditionally covered with cotton and butyrate doped in Miami blue and Daytona white. A 1/4in gold beading completes the trim.

The 90 h.p. Pobjoy Niagara 1A, previously fitted to Westland’s CL.20 Autogiro G-ACYI, has only 15hr running time since new.
G-LCGL unsticks at around 60 m.p.h.
The snug cockpit has plenty of legroom.
