Virgin Orbit has converted a former Virgin Atlantic Boeing 747-400, N744VG (c/n 32745), into an air launch to orbit platform. The company was forced to postpone a trial flight to place a dummy satellite into orbit in May 2020 after discovering a technical problem with a sensor.
