M.Attrill - NATO Tiger Meet And Exercise Arctic Tiger 2007 /Military/
No.192 Filo of the Turkish Air Force, based at Balikesir, entered into the spirit of Arctic Tiger 2007, arriving at Orland with two attractively painted F-16Cs sporting appropriately uniformed Tiger caricatures throwing snowballs. The aircraft shown here wore the design over a bright red background; the second aircraft had a royal blue fin. The Turkish squadron, which enjoyed a wide variety of flying, including air defence, fighter sweep and close air support, was also called upon to act as 'red' air. The Turkish pilots often benefited from the challenging weather conditions that they encountered on a number of occasions.
Dassault Mirage 2000C s/n 99/12-YB of EC.01.012, based at Cambrai AB in Northern France. As the longest serving and only surviving founder member of the NATO Tiger Association left in Europe, EC.01.012 saw fit to celebrate with this rather striking colour scheme, designed to reflect the history of the squadron. The traditional overall aluminium colour scheme associated with the squadron during the 1950s and '60s is 'peeled back' blue and grey colour scheme.
French Navy tiger squadron Flotille 11F at Landivisau, painted two of its Super Etendard Modernises 49 and 62, in this impressive and appropriately wintry tiger scheme for the event.
