The Boeing Vertol 347 was a heavily modified CH-47A used for a number of research programmes. Featuring a longer fuselage and retractable undercarriage, among other special features, it is shown with the wing removed and a retractable capsule added for a load-controlling crewman, when being used to evaluate the fly-by-wire control system for the XCH-62 heavy-lift helicopter.
