Bearskin Airlines of Sioux Lookout, Ontario in Canada, is now using a Saab 340 to supplement its fleet of 14 (soon to be 15) Fairchild Swearingen Metroliners on Northern Ontario commercial passenger routes. Saab 340B C-FTLW (c/n 340B-336) is seen on October 27, 2011 at North Bay Jack Garland Airport, Ontario. The commuter-liner is operated by Calm Air International LP of Thompson, Manitoba, on behalf of Bearskin Airlines, but the carrier will take over upon acquisition of a Saab 340 operating certificate. A second example is due in January 2012. It commenced service with Bearskin on May 2, 2011, initially operating on Northwestern Ontario routes until the end of September, then flew the North Bay to Thunder Bay route from October 3.
