The VVA-14 was an extraordinary ground-effect amphibious aircraft.

It had a big fuselage and two enormous 'pods' connected to the fuselage by large airfoil fairings, containing in all 12 lift jet engines for vertical take-off. Two more engines were installed on top of the fuselage, above a slender wing installed well
back.

Standard landing gear of the Tu-22 was used. Inflatable pontoons were attached to pods for 'wet' landing.

Two prototypes were built. It is believed that the lift engines were never fitted.
