Испытания вертолетов для Армии США. 17 октября 1974г.: в Стратфорде поднялся в воздух первый из трех прототипов вертолета Sikorsky YUH-60A, его конкурентом был Boeing Vertol YUH-61A (фото). Сравнительные испытания проводились по программе Армии США UTTAS ("Utility Tactical Transport Aircraft System"). YUH-61A впервые поднялся в воздух 29 ноября, но проиграл конкурс. По компоновке оба вертолета чрезвычайно похожи, а их силовые установки идентичны. Главное различие - шасси, YUH-61A имел шасси с носовой опорой.
