Contrast in size between the S.A.S. Monoplane ZK-ALV and Bristol 170 Freighter Mk.IA G-AIMC. The homebuilt appears to be similar to Heath or Luton designs of the same vintage. The Freighter "Merchant Venturer" was on a sales tour of Australia/NZ in 1947 when presumably this photo was taken at Christchurch.
