The complete 25 Group contingent lined up on Runway 05 at RAF Oakington. Only 600yd of the original 2,000yd runway remains today to meet the needs of the resident Army helicopters.
This was the scene at RAF Odiham on the afternoon of Tuesday, July 14, 1953, the day before the Review, as seen from Flight’s Miles Gemini G-AFLT. A full dress rehearsal was held the previous Friday!

The author’s pride and joy for an entire month - Meteor F.4 VZ416 on the north-east apron at RAF Oakington. This Meteor was struck off RAF charge in October 1954.
