J.Bruce - Austin's aggressor (2)
The A.F.B.1 at Martlesham Heath in its final form with the Spad-braced wings that replaced the original swept-back mainplanes.
This side view, taken at Longbridge, shows the A.F.B.1’s flank radiators, small balanced rudder and deep fuselage.
A rear view of the newly completed A.F.B.1 at Austin's Longbridge works. Note the distinctive triangular tailplane.
The A.F.B.1 at Martlesham with the Lewis gun wrongly mounted. Its barrel should rest on top of the V support so that it fires over the propeller arc.
