An air-to-air refuelling capability is planned for the Yak-130. Bort number '93' was delivered to Lipetsk, but was destroyed during take-off on May 29, 2010, with both pilots ejecting safely.

During its time in the UK, Yak-130 tail number '01' flown by Vasiliy Sevastyanov and Andrei Voropayev, flew each display with an impressive weapons load comprising two B13 launchers each with five 122mm unguided rockets (middle pylon), two R-73 air-to-air missiles (outer pylon), two 590-litre drop tanks (inner pylon) and two wingtip-mounted UV-26M decoy launchers.

The NSPU-130 cannon pod is mounted under the fuselage. It is a self-contained weapon system that can be 'bolted on' to the Yak-130 as required.
