J.Lake - Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental lives up to its name /Commercial/
Boeing 747-8I N6067E turns on final approach to Le Bourget on June 19, 2011.
Looking smart in its red, white, orange and grey 'Sunrise' livery, N6067E was painted in these colours as they are said to represent prosperity and good luck in Eastern cultures. Apparently Boeing is hopeful this will help it market the aircraft in India and the Far East.
General Electric's GEnx-2B is a big engine featuring a 105 inch (2.67m) diameter fan, a three-stage booster and six-stage low-pressure turbine. The variant used to power the Boeing 747-8I is rated at 66,500lb of thrust (296kN).
Cowlings open on the General Electric GEnx-2B on Boeing 747-8I N6067E.
The 747-8I's all-glass cockpit.
