Регистрационный номер: VL917 [3] The second prototype, VL917, had a Mamba fitted and on 24 March 1948 became the first single turboprop in the world to take to the air. It was followed by the third prototype, VL935 on 17 May 1948 and later VL892 had its Mercury replaced by a Mamba.
