12.12.38 "Coorong" was Qantas Short S.23 Empire VH-ABE c/n S.851, driven ashore from moorings during the night and blown onto a breakwater at the peak of the high tide. As the sea subsided the aircraft was secured to prevent salt water penetration of the hull. Dismantled and returned to Shorts for rebuild.
