Регистрационный номер: EN199 [2] John Visanech has come up with photos of EN199 in its present condition. After being struck off charge on 30 January 1947, the remains were presented to the local Air Scouts on 27 May 1947 and sat outside their premises for several years, being ravaged by weather and vandals. Around 1955, it was passed on to the Civil Defence Rescue and Training Centre where it was almost destroyed.
In 1992, Ray Polidano, a member of the National War Museum Association, recovered the remaining parts and began a lengthy reconstruction. Currently, work on the wings is at an advanced stage and they will hopefully be mated to the fuselage by the end of this year.
The photo was taken at Ta'Qali, which the RAF spelled as Takali despite the fact that, if we recall correctly, the "Q" in Maltese is silent. The old nissen huts had become a craft centre and the surviving hangar a glass-blowing factory when last we saw it. Then they built a football stadium on top of the old airfield.Самолёты на фотографии: Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX / XVI - Великобритания - 1942

Регистрационный номер: P2469 [8], P2469 [8] The photos, kindly supplied by Vlastimil Suchy, show the conversion which was to provide a prop for a film called "Sky Raiders" (or rather its Czech translation) in 1969.

Регистрационный номер: P2469 [8], P2469 [8] Although there was not much one could do with the wing position, the rest of the detail was very good. One feels that our own TV companies, faced with having to produce a twin-engined wartime bomber, would have simply camouflaged a DC-3 and painted on nose and tail turrets.
The jeep has a RAF registration number and looks more in period than the Skodas in another view. Airfield buildings were sandbagged to add authenticity during shooting.Самолёты на фотографии: Vickers Wellington / Type 271 - Великобритания - 1936Лисунов Ли-2 / ПС-84 - Россия - 1939

Регистрационный номер: F3555, F3557 Mike Gradidge has sent in some photos taken by his father in 1918, believed at Worthy Down or, possibly, Lympne. R.E.8s F3557 and F3555 have strange rods under the wings. What are they? And who belongs to the markings which are not in the squadron markings pages of Bruce Robertson's Aircraft Camouflage and Markings

The white-nosed F.2B has a lozenge paint scheme similar to that used by the Germans. The F.2B has a similar marking to the R.E.8s. Possibly it was re-covered with German fabric as an experiment which might explain the white nose as a means of identification that it was a British aircraft.

Регистрационный номер: L7250 The third prototype, L7250 - going down the slipway with engines running on its beaching gear, with front turret retracted.
The third Lerwick L7250 is launched into the Medina from the Saro factory at East Cowes.
The Lerwick on the back cover of AM. 1/95 appears to have been transported across the Solent. Charles Taylor has pointed out that the location appears to be Calshot where L7250 was based from June 1939 to September 1940.Самолёты на фотографии: Saunders-Roe Lerwick / S.36 - Великобритания - 1938

The photograph from Eric Myall shows a line-up of Westland Welkin Is awaiting delivery. The location is not clear and is probably Yeovil although there is a distinct lack of houses in the background. Intended as a high-altitude interceptor, the Welkin never went into service as the threat for enemy high-altitude bombers never materialised.
