The Itoh Emi 25 two-seat trainer J-TELN was said to be a modified Canadian-built Curtiss-Reid (although this company was only founded in 1928). Apparently a scaled-down variant of the Curtiss JN-4 with equal span wings, side radiators and a 90hp Curtiss OX-5, the "Baby Curtiss" was acquired by Otojiro Itoh from Choichi Inoue. He had bought this and three other aircraft, formerly of the Burt Barr Flying Circus, from Kobe Customs where they had been impounded for non-payment of bills following a Japanese tour in 1921.
