    Remarkable largely for its very clean aerodynamic form, this new German Moller single-seater, on the mere 53 h.p. of a Zundapp engine, recently averaged 185.4 km./hr. (115 m.p.h.) over 100 km. (62 miles) and 187.8 km./hr. (116 m.p.h.) over 1,000 km. (620 miles).

    Speed over 1000km - 2 6.4.39 Moller Stomo III, D-YNER; 187.746 km/hr (116.66 mph) by Max Brandenburg, Bremen to Schwessin. Designed and built by Hans G Moller, the prototype Stomo all-wood single seat monoplane D-YDOL (18 hp Kroeber M4 flat twin) was crashed by test pilot Kurchenmeister and was replaced by D-YDAL. The Stomo 3 D-YNER was fitted with a 42 hp Zundapp 4-cyl inverted inline motorcycle engine of the type which was developed into the 50 hp Zundapp aircraft engine. D-YNER was flown by Max Brandenburg for the record flights. Wing span 7.6 m (24 ft 11 in.), Loaded weight 331 kg (730 lb).
