CARMA VT-1 WEEJET. Designed as a primary, side-by-side jet trainer in the same category as the Temco TT-1, the Torrance (California)-built Carma VT-1 WeeJet is powered by a 920-lb. s.t. Continental J69-T-9 turbojet. The VT-1 first flew in March or this year. The first prototype (N8209H) has since been destroyed during flight tests. A second VT-1 differs slightly from the silhouette. The design weight is 3,826 lb. and max. speed 322 m. p.h. Service ceiling 35,000 ft. Fuel capacity (with two 50-U.S.gall. tip tanks) 232 U.S. gall. Span 28 ft.; length 24 ft. 6 in.; height 6 ft. 8 in.
