H.Levy - Pfalz D III
Javier Arango’s Pfalz D III lookalike is based on a Tiger Moth fuselage. The Gipsy Queen-powered aircraft wears the colours of Leutnant Fritz Hohn of Jasta 21.
To maximise the pilot’s field of vision, the Pfalz’s upper wing is set at eye level, and the lower wing has reduced chord.
The aircraft’s modern-style tailwheel, seen here, is fitted only for hard-runway operation; for grass-field flying Arango reverts to a tailskid.
