Following up the incident mentioned in Richard Riding’s article on the Lancastrian, May 1981, concerning Lancastrian 2, G-AKFH, when it crashed at Gatow on June 26, 1949, the author describes the aircraft making a rough landing, its cargo of fuel catching fire, the three crew escaping and then watching the frantic efforts of the fire crew, who hadn’t seen them escape, to rescue the crew.
