No 655 Sqn Lynx XZ665 lifts No 882 Sqn Wildcat JV482 from Portmore Lough on April 30, 1984

On firm ground again for the first time in 40 years, the Wildcat is open to inspection.

The photographs, by ERNIE CROMIE, show the Wildcat almost clear of the lough on April 23, 1984, and drying out on May 3.

The Bendix radio set recovered from the aircraft.

The photograph shows the Wildcat before the start of the recovery operation.
