Aerocar Sooper-Coot Model A (USA)
A lightweight homebuilt amphibian first flown in February 1971. Basic structure is of wood but the tailboom and tail unit can be of steel tube and fabric, wood monocoque or all-metal construction. The ‘float-wing’ configuration permits rough-water operation and all control surfaces are statically balanced. The wings, tailplane and elevators all fold. Over 400 Sooper-Coots are under construction, with 50 already flying.
