Still flying on Viper power in 2018 is Atlas Impala Mk 1 ZU-IMP, originally on strength with the SAAF as "479" and now a popular display item at South African airshows.
Designated MB-326M by the parent company Aermacchi, the Atlas Impala Mk 1 was a Viper-powered two-seat trainer and light ground-attack aircraft built under licence in South Africa. The Mk 1s were given serials in the 460 to 610 range and the single-seat Mk 2s, equivalent to Aermacchi's MB-326K dedicated ground-attacker, were serialled 1000 to 1099.
