On April 3, 2020, Airbus used one of its two A350-1000 test aircraft, F-WMIL (c/n 059), to transport 4m face masks from Tianjin, China, to Hamburg/Finkenwerder. The manufacturer's other example, F-WWXL (c/n 071), is due to be re-registered G-VDOT and delivered to Virgin Atlantic as part of the Crawley-based carrier's order for 12 of the jets.
