Airbus Military has completed a stress survey on the eight-bladed scimitar propeller, calibrated the EuroProp International TP400-D6 engine, completed engine transients, nacelle cooling tests and modifications, and performed lapse rate take-off tests for power management.
Airbus Military says it thinks a component within the propeller gearbox failed and this is thought to be a different item to the idler gear and bearing that failed last year.
