RICHARD PAVER’S photograph of the JP Transair Team’s Jet Provost Mk 5. The aircraft is actually XR674 but is painted as XW428, a Mk 5 flown by the Swords aerobatic team of 1974, a four-ship team sponsored by razor-blade manufacturer Wilkinson Sword. Now based at Biggin Hill, this JP was restored by Gosh That’s Aviation between November 1994 and September 1995.

Jet Provost T Mk 51 “103” was one of six supplied to the Kuwaiti Air Force. An armed version of the Mk 3, the Mk 51 had two 0-303in machine-guns and underwing rocket or bomb attachments.
