  • Peter Amos, our Miles Aircraft Specialist, submitted the Magister along with other photos for the Civvie Street listings. The airframe is completely unmarked, the location and date unknown, but the Maggie does carry a label (visible between the mainwheels) stating "Magister 1939" although the date is indistinct. This could indicate that it is a museum exhibit, which narrows the choice down to perhaps six or seven aircraft. If anyone can identify the machine, location, date, garden shed ... ?

This coupe Moth Minor G-AFOJ is seen here in the 1941 style markings that it wore on communications duties for the manufacturer.

  • Регистрационный номер: LV-NAA

The photograph reached us from Gary Kuhn and shows a Moth, probably a DH.60G, with 'ROLET' in large letters under the port wing and a number on the fuselage which may be 14. or 16. . The only caption details given are: ROLET-I, Cordoba, Argentina 1930s. Again, if anyone can add to that we would be very grateful.
The photo of the Moth 'ROLET' has been identified by Marcelo Miranda. It was DH.60G registered R149 and owned by Juan Arfinetti and Oscar A.Faure, though the former sold his share to T.Brossa. It was re-registered LV-NAA in 1937 and was still on the register in 1973. The word 'ROLET' under the port wing was actually part of an advertisement for 'CHEVROLET' and the photo was originally taken by Raul Candia at Canada de Gomez airfield. The Moth had engine no.847 but the c/n was not recorded - though it must be either 812, 864, 1020 or 1832 - any suggestions?
