Регистрационный номер: KL590 [2] The Douglas B-26 was designed as a replacement for the A-20. The latter had seen extensive service in the R.A.F. as the Boston and Havoc. To replace these, it was arranged that deliveries of Invader Is would begin in the latter half of 1945 but the end of the war and the suspension of Lend-Lease deliveries resulted in only two being supplied. Unusually KL590 on test at Boscombe down carries both British and U.S.A.A.F. identities.

The two photographs show the ground crew and engine crew of "A-Apple". Visible is an elaborate piece of nose-art which is difficult to discern and six bomb mission symbols. Perhaps a reader can enlarge on this.

Регистрационный номер: N9496 Fairey IIIDs at Kilia Bay, Turkey, in October 1922. N9496 is in the foreground. They were part of a combined British and French force holding the Dardanelles to enforce the terms of the Versailles Treaty during a period of turmoil in Turkey.

The rather battered remains shown here are of a Seafire taken by Dave Welch at Eastleigh in 1956/57 where it was on the fire dump. Despite minute examination, it failed to reveal any identity.

Регистрационный номер: N7471 Panther N7471 in a familiar position. This counted as a safe landing in the early days of carrier operations! The arrester wires can be seen and the aircraft is resting on its hydrovane forward of the undercarriage which helped to prevent it overturning when ditched. Note code "B" on fin.

Регистрационный номер: J327 Barry Moores has found the photo in a local book fair of an Avro 626 in trouble. As those who have memorised Aeromilitaria No. 1/1983 will immediately recognise, it is J327 of the Royal Egyptian Air Force. The undercarriage has been wiped off. It is dated 1936 at Mersa Matruh but no further details are known. Presumably it was repaired.
