Three Demons of No. 23 Squadron - but they are not really Demons but Hart Fighters which preceded the choice of the name "Demon" for the two-seat fighter version of the prolific Hart family. Six were ordered in 1930 and took their place alongside Bulldogs with the squadron.

K8124 is the No. 4 Squadron Hector that got out of hand during Empire Air Day at Odiham on 28 May 1938 when it overshot and had to swing to avoid running into the taxpayers. It was a write-off.

K9688 was all the work of Odihams's groundsman who left his roller lying around while he went to lunch. Also dropping in for lunch was Major Pat Hannay, No.53 Squadron's CO on 16 June 1938. The two events coincided and K9688 lost parts of its anatomy. It was repaired on site but no accident form is recorded for the incident.
