The Airacomet in standard RAF fighter camouflage with a prototype 'P' marking aft of the roundel. The additional pitot-static head fitted at Farnborough can just be discerned in front of the leading edge of the fin. Although not mentioned in RAE reports, the armament of four 0.5-inch machine guns appears to befitted.

The close-in engine mountings can be seen in this nose view. These helped single-engined flying considerably compared with the Meteor's widely spaced engines where an engine failure could cause the aircraft to swing and also make it harder to fly on one engine. Note the very wide-track undercarriage.
