Waco CG-15A (USA)
The CG-15A was a development of the CG-4A with reduced wing span, a strongly reinforced nose, improved landing-gear shock absorbers and the addition of flaps to counteract the effect of the shortened span. With these changes the maximum permissible towing speed was increased to 290 km/h (180 mph), permitting the glider to be towed by fighters. Only 427 were built, most as 15-seaters but some accommodating 16 men or 1,814 kg (4,000 lb) of equipment.
