The Lanier Slow-Flight Aeroplanes, 1928-1960
<...>
There was no doubt that Edward Lanier had succeeded in obtaining the low speed behaviour and performance that his father had aimed at and the next step was production. He said that the arrangements had almost been completed for the construction of a two-storey factory in Pennsylvania and that he expected to be able to produce a production version for $5000. A pre-production model was completed with a redesigned 2-seat fuselage and a 150 hp Lycoming engine. This was designated the Commuter 110 and registered N4157A.
Alas for Lanier's hopes, it seems that orders were not forthcoming as prospective buyers of light aircraft preferred increased performance to improved low speed capability and greater safety. No production took place, and N4157A was last seen at New Jersey's Flying W Ranch airfield without its engine and propeller in August 1970 shortly before the airfield closed down.

Регистрационный номер: N4157A The final PL-8B Paraplane Commuter 110, N4157A, a prospective two-seater but test flown as a single seater. The aircraft still appeared on the US Civil Register of 1.1.69 and was shown to have been built in 1958 and registered to the Lanier Aircraft Corporation. By then it was no longer airworthy and it was removed from the register soon afterwards.
