Air Enthusiast 1972-09
The first of 30 Westland/Aerospatiale Gazelle HT Mk 2 training helicopters for the Royal Navy made its first flight at Yeovil on 6 July 1972. Other British versions of the Gazelle are the AH Mk 1, 99 of which are on order for the Army, and the RAF's HT Mk 3 trainer and HCC Mk 4 VIP transport model.
Delivery has recently been completed of the five Scottish Aviation Bulldogs ordered by the Kenya Air Force - the third service to introduce this trainer into operation. The finish, in high gloss red and white, is similar to that which will be used on the RAF Bulldogs, delivery of which is to begin next year.
