Air International 2008-04
Talkback
Entebbe Airport was the subject of a feature in the June 2007 issue, which reported its use by United Nations (UN) aircraft to transport relief supplies and personnel into the Democratic Republic of Congo. The airport is still used by the UN and this Dash 8-300, C-FIQT, of Voyageur Airways from Canada was pictured there recently.
Photographed touching down at Lajes AB in the Azores on February 5, 2008 is US Marine Corps EA-6B Prowler, 161119/CY, of VMAQ-2. The unit was returning to its home base of MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina after a deployment to Al Asad in Iraq. The aircraft pictured is interesting for a number of reasons, the first is for the female figure painted inside the wingtip speedbrake (see inset) and also the 'digital' scheme on the upper part of the fuselage.
